About styles of Pokutska ceramics

"Ethno"

We have exactly taken this style as a base of all our dishes. The national style is simplest forms and an absence of ornaments. Out grandfathers and grandmothers used these dishes. It is simple, but at the same time, perfect forms based on the golden ratio. Nothing unnecessary, but at the same time, it is a perfect harmony. These dishes are made from the blue clay from Kolomiysky region or from red clay from other Ukrainian fields.

Shlyahta is the principal public privileged social status and the form of aristocracy into Poland, Lithuania and Rus – Ukraine from 14th to 18th centuries. These dishes are penetrated with Ukrainian baroque with appropriate ornaments and curls, but, at the same time, the simplicity is inherent to this style. A luxury is an addition, and not a base. These dishes are made both, on the choice – or from the white Slav clay or from the blue clay from Kolomiysky region. Difference is into tints and some features of the clays.

It is one more historical style. Tivertsy were the East Slav tribe, lived from 9th to beginning of 12th centuries in the land near the Dniester, the Prut and the Danube almost to the Black Sea shores. One of the versions that the name “Tivertsy” has come from Greek θαιρός – Tiras, so then Hellenes named the Dniester. These dishes are distinguished by medieval chopped sharp cold black and white forms. Made from the white Slav clay.

"Pokuten"
The name has come from settlement Cucuteni (Romania), when were found traces of Trypillian culture. We combined two names: Cucuteni and Pokuten. Trypillians lived in a perfect society, in a harmony with nature and Universe. They didn’t have a social inequality. Monumentality of Trypillians ornaments has been colossal and unmatched till this day. We didn’t try to reproduce and repeat Trypillian ornaments at this style. We stylized some elements in modernity. And rest we thought and worked out by ourselves. Dishes in style "Pokuten" are made from the white Slav clay.
